Typography is something that is usually thought of in books or posters, but what happens when you take it out of this context? This is something that I experimented with in this project. Installing typography in a space, especially on top of other pieces of art possess its own challenges not usually encountered in conventional applications, such as the way forms and colors interact with one another. The stencil was typeset in Helvetica with the counters knocked out to provide more area for the paint to cover. I used metallic gold spray paint add another level of distinction between my piece and the work already covering the wall.
